Milner: The Man & The Tower
21 October @ 10:00 am - 31 October @ 4:00 pm| Free
An exhibition to mark the 150th anniversary of Milner Tower, built on Bradda Head by the people of Port Erin in honour of the village’s great benefactor, William Milner. The exhibition looks at his early days in the UK, the Milner Safe Company he inherited from his father, and his gradual move to the Island, where he had fallen in love with Port Erin. Milner lived at ‘The Rest’ (now site of Milner Towers) overlooking the bay and the exhibition features the many philanthropic ventures he undertook for the people of his adopted home. Most of the exhibition will be on display at St Catherine’s Church Hall in Port Erin, but part of it will be on display in Rushen Heritage & Visitor Centre, around the corner in Bridson Street.
