The Countdown To Christmas in Port Erin will return this year on Saturday 4th December, with lots of free entertainment all over the village, including Erin Arts Centre, The Railway Station, Port Erin Methodist Church and St Catherine’s Church Hall.
Laurel & Hardy will guide you round The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, to all the venues, so you don’t miss a thing. Look out for them in their classic car, and check the Laurel & Hardy special bus-stops to see what time they’re arriving to entertain you!
You will find your entry forms for the one day only Trail of the Lonesome Pine in all the shops, find all the Lonesome Pinecones hidden around the village in our venues and shop windows, then hand your answers to Laurel & Hardy! Prizes for finding the most!
The day will see the launch of Bushy’s special Christmas brew, The Ale of the Lonesome Pine available exclusively in Port Erin pubs on Saturday and Sunday, then across the island for everyone right through Christmas! Cheers!!
Santa will be at The Gift of Giving Grotto in The Railway Station, bring a gift for our chosen charities MSPCA, Mann Cat Sanctuary and IOM Foodbank.
Free entertainment at The Railway Station includes roast chestnuts and mulled wine on the platform, courtesy of The Rotary and Bushy’s and the best live entertainment from midday, including Laurel & hardy stopping by at their special bus-stop. Check the bus-stop for arrival times.

Erin Arts Centre will be hosting their wonderful Christmas Market from 11am – 4.30pm. Come down and get yourself some quality, uniquely hand-crafted Christmas gifts and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, while the kids make a festive decoration in the craft workshop. Laurel & Hardy will be stopping at their special bus-stop to entertain you! Check what time they’re due on the bus-stop.
Port Erin Methodist Church will be open from 11am – 4pm and in the Hall you can dress up and Put Yourself in The Stable as Mary or a shepherd, come and make mini lanterns and decorate cookies with icing in our workshops! In the Chapel you can visit the Christmas Crib scene display, see the Giant Puppets and enjoy the Christmas music. At St Catherine’s Church Hall the talented Manx Craft Guild will host their Christmas Craft Market, with their gorgeous stalls bursting with lovely Christmas cards and gifts you won’t find anywhere else.
Port Erin’s wonderful shops and cafes and pubs and eateries will be open for all your festive essentials and to welcome you to Countdown to Christmas.
