We are sorry to announce that this event has been CANCELLED due to COVID.

Rushen Heritage Trust’s season of talks continues with Allison Fox, Curator of Archaeology at Manx National Heritage, taking us ‘Around the South in 30 Objects’.

In her illustrated talk on Monday, January 10th, Allison will explore the history of the south of the Island, as she presents a specially curated discussion of the familiar, and not so familiar, artefacts that have been discovered and the stories that they tell.

The event at Erin Arts Centre starts at 7.30pm (doors 7pm), with tickets priced at £5 – or £4 if you have signed up as a Friend of Rushen Heritage Trust.

Tickets are available from Erin Arts Centre, Bridge Bookshop and Erin News (all Port Erin) and Calvert Newsagents (Port St Mary). They are also available online via Erin Arts Centre at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/isle-of-man/erin-arts-centre

Erin Arts Centre is encouraging visitors to wear face masks and to use the hand sanitiser provided. On the day of the talk, we would also recommend doing a lateral flow test before attending.

Our season of talks got underway earlier this month with Charles Guard’s ‘The Island at War’ and looking ahead we have these other dates at the Erin Arts Centre:

  • February 7 – Dave Martin: New Light on Mann – LiDAR and other digital archaeology on the Island
  • March 7 – Angela Little: 150 years of the Education Act (1872)
  •  April 11 – Peter Kelly: A Postcard Tour of the Isle of Man
